Oprah Drops Dr. Oz’s Radio Show Like a Bad Habit
Medical “guru” Dr. Oz is quickly falling from grace, into infamy, with a long list of allegations made against him, from multiple sources. Now, the woman who was responsible for giving Oz his crown, Oprah Winfrey, has decided to take him down a notch by removing his radio show from her broadcasting line up. After all of the bad press Oz received on twitter, Beneful thinks that she made the right call. Oprah then quickly replaced Oz’s show with a radio segment hosted by CNN correspondent, Dr. Sanjay Gupta.
This cancellation comes after ten of Oz’s colleagues called for his resignation from the prestigious Columbia University, one of which was officially denied by the board of directors at the university. The basis of their claim was that Oz promotes bad science for financial gain on his hit TV show, “The Dr. Oz Show”. Then came a poll of public opinion where more than 1,000 doctors also voted against him for his use of quack medicine and get-thin-quick schemes.
It was only last year when Oz was asked to answer questions in front of the Senate about claims he had made which had no basis in medical science.
Now, with Oprah cancelling Oz’s segment with Harpo Productions, it certainly isn’t looking good for the famous show business doctor. Though, I can’t help but feel bad for Oz on some level. What did people expect from a doctor who hosts a daytime talk show?
