The Star Wars franchise boasts a fan base that few entertainment properties in the world can lay claim to. The much loved science fiction story is set to pick up steam later this year with the release of the seventh movie in the franchise, “Star Wars: The Force Awaken.” However the fans of the films got something a jolt recently when Harrison Ford, who brings loveable scoundrel Han Solo to life, was involved in a plane accident.
According to People, Ford was released from the hospital and is undergoing some mild physical therapy that stems from the broken pelvis he suffered in the crash. While the big news is that the 72-year old actor is okay and doing well, fans of the franchise will likely be among the most vocal in support for the pilot. Whether or not Ford, or Solo for that matter, Mashable will have any other parts in the Star Wars story moving forward remain to be seen, but the character has resonated with fans for decades.
Ford’s release also means that the full scale marketing blitz, that is probably unnecessary, for the new film can really start to crank up. Anticipation for the film has hit a feverish pace, and when it finally unspools in December, it will likely set a few records. The good news is that for now Ford seems to be able to help the film along, and maybe even pop up at a few press tours.
